It was Always You | Annie & Andy 2021

couple enjoys their destination wedding in chicago

When true love strikes, time seems to stand still. For Annie and Andy, their love has stood the absolute test of time. A decade in and finally married… not once, but twice. Of course the pandemic had to throw a wrench in the plan, but that didn’t stop us from planning a spectacular wedding weekend for these two!

The Studio helped plan Annie and Andy’s wedding from their home in California so they could celebrate with both their friends locally in a small ceremony on their dating anniversary, and again (bigger party this time) with their family here in Chicagoland. And boy did we throw down!

The wedding party crew started the day off at the Hotel at Midtown! The ladies had a gorgeous suite all to themselves with a view of downtown. The gentlemen got a bit of quality time in with their adorable quarantine pup - CeCe! And don’t skip past the groom’s hunter green suit jacket - love it. Annie did change up her color palette from a light spring palette to a dark and moody winter vibe that paired perfectly with Artifact Events and the Chicago December weather.

After their First Look on the rooftop of the Hotel, the crew made their way around the city to get some fun wedding party shots at the boat yard and under some train bridges. Their photographer chose some excellent outdoor photography locations to get the full Chicago urban experience. They were even surprised by the Chicago Holiday CTA Train!!

The Flower Girl Company blew this altar design out of the water with their hidden suspension and lush greenery. It worked double duty as their backdrop for the sweetheart table later in the evening. Café lights at Artifact gave the atrium a natural twinkle as the ceremony began just after sunset.

A heartfelt ceremony was officiated by a dear friend of theirs at the Artifact Event Space and followed by a wonderful assortment of snacks and apps before dinner. Many of their appetizers were inspired by the bride and grooms favorite snacks or items from their travels. And yes, they even had a Cheese Cake (a cake made entirely out of different cheeses)!!

After a quick outfit change, the couple ripped up the dance floor with their closest friends and family. I even got to spend a little time with a previous bride of mine, and dear friend of the couple, Katrina! See their stunning suburban Chicago wedding from 2019.

Guests were sent home with some fantastic sweets and treats as wedding favors - movie theatre candy an popcorn.
