Desert Winter Getaway | Mollie & Louie 2022
Want to ditch the Chicago winters for a wedding venue with amazing service, stunning back drops, and a pool deck open in February? Look no further than the palm tree filled streets of Palm Springs, California. Mollie and Louie chose this location after having visited the local area a few times and falling in love with its many charms.
Nestled in the center of Palm Springs, California, is the iconic Ace Hotel. Home to two luxurious pools, a day spa, fantastic restaurant (highly recommend the brunch), and fabulous indoor reception space. Oswit Canyon and Mount San Jacinto can be seen in the distance beyond the pool and ceremony space.
Mollie and Louie’s love is one in a million. Their relationship is based on a deep appreciation for each other and faith in their family. Being around them is simply magnetic. The first night in town, everyone gathered for a quick rehearsal, followed by dinner at a local restaurant called Boozehounds.
The couple started their wedding day by getting ready in the courtyards of their hotel suites. Once ready, they shared a private first look and took time for portraits before the big day kicked off. As a fellow wedding professional himself (a very skilled wedding photographer), Louie knew the importance of making time for the photos they wanted to cherish.
The couple even rented a gorgeous white Thunderbird to drive them around and take some photos deeper into the desert landscape.
Inspired by the bright colors of the midcentury modern housing movement of Palm Springs, the couple brought this bright palette into every aspect of the wedding day. A lush floral arch was created on the ground where Louie and Mollie would say their vows. Mollie’s own father officiated their wedding ceremony and found ways to incorporate all immediate family members. Giant tropical flowers filled Mollie’s bouquet.
After a sunset ceremony, the wedding guests moved into the pool area and waited for the grand reveal of the reception space. Champagne flutes waited for them upon entry. Giant fluffy arrangements of baby’s breath filled the reception hall ceiling with a large disco ball installation over the dance floor.
A long night of dancing and reminiscing ensued. But once everyone was ready to turn in for the night, the couple decided to take a quick jump into the pool to cool off.
Cheers to you both, Louie and Mollie. So thrilled to have been a part of your wedding day.
And a very special thank you to a wonderful creative team:
