An Architectural Dream at The Rookery | Matt & Jaclyn 2021

Nothing beats planning your best friend’s wedding… I thought this job was fun before, but honestly, this moment took the cake. From start to finish, Jaclyn knew exactly what she wanted, and all the BW Studio Team had to do was help bring it to life for her and her fiancé, Matt. We were all swept away in an architectural dream within Chicago’s Rookery Building.

As a skilled architect, Jaclyn has a keen eye for all things beautiful and necessary. She didn’t spend a lot of time on fluff, but dove elbow deep into making sure the details mattered…. from her excellently styled shoes to their matching wedding bands and the patterning on her lace dress. Every element was perfect for a Chicago Rookery Wedding.

J is lucky enough to have two wonderful sisters that were thrilled to be a part of her special weekend. And as an honorary sister, I got to get in on the fun as well!! From planning a fabulous wedding shower, to coordinating rehearsal dinner plans, and a brunch the morning after, this was a family affair to remember.

Matt and Jaclyn chose to unite their beliefs and cultures into one spectacular ceremony that didn’t leave a dry eye in the room. Combining Jewish Wedding Traditions into their wedding day was a beautiful experience for everyone as they learned the significance of the huppah, the rings, and the tallit. They signed their ketubah in a small private ceremony before guests arrived, and shared their marriage vows under the iconic Chicago Rookery Staircase.

Rich floral colors paired perfectly with the deep metal tones of the building and contrasted against the bright whites of the marble floors and glass domed ceiling. Many guests spent cocktail hour walking up and down the spiral staircase taking in every inch of this Chicago classic.

After dinner and speeches, guests spent the rest of the night dancing and laughing the night away. Some of us even had to change into sneakers so we didn’t miss a beat.
