Top 10 Items to Include in your Wedding Emergency Kit

The wedding weekend is hectic, and any prepared couple should build out a small wedding emergency kit for their sides of the wedding party! Read more to find out BW Studio’s MUST HAVE items to include on a weekend weekend emergency kit. Links to make your shopping adventure easy, too.

No. 1 | A small first aid kit!

Band-aids, Neosporin, burn cream, just the the core basics of a first aid kit. Nothing too big or bulky. Your wedding planner should have the bigger items in their extensive emergency kit, but everyone’s toes start to rub after a long day of heels and dress shoes. So always carry around a small first aid kit with you.

This is our Favorite Mini First Aid Kit!

No. 2 | Variety of Safety Pin Sizes

I can’t tell you how many catastrophe’s I’ve saved with a few safety pins. But I can assure you you’ll be glad you have them on the day-of your wedding in your emergency kit. Make sure you have a handful of sizes, not all emergencies are created equally. Once those buttons fail on your bustle, you’ll want some super heavy duty ones, but when a strap breaks on someone’s dress, you’ll want something dainty.

Best multipack option is this one!

I put a handful of the into a tiny tupperware container for easy access throughout the entire weekend.

No. 3 | Lint Rollers

Lint and dust happen… and sadly, it really shows in photos! Make sure those tuxes and blazers are lint (and cat hair) free before you dip off for photos. A must have for any emergency kit and useful all weekend long.

We love these cool retractable ones.

Reusable ones are always great, but tough on the go during a wedding weekend.

But some easy disposable ones work, too!

No. 4 | Hair Spray

You can never have enough hair spray on the day-of the wedding!! Everyone will need a quick touchup and some point, and you can throw it in the suite at the venue once you arrive for anyone to use later.

Big Sexy Hair, Please!

No. 5 | Tide Pens!

Stains happen! And these pens are always mini life savers. Now, they won’t get out a whole glass of red wine someone spills on you, but that’s what your planner is for. If there is a major stain or spill, ask your wedding planner or venue staff to help out. In the meantime, all hail Tide Pens.

No. 6 | Aerosol Deodorant

These cans of aerosol deodorant come in handy for all types, builds, genders, and sweaters!! Great for strapless gowns, you can just let one of your wedding party members spray you down for a nice fresh feeling before you jump back on the dance floor.

We don’t go into a wedding weekend without a full Dove Bottle like this one!

Great options for a more masculine smell as well - link here!

No. 7 | Mobile Steamer

We always recommend that wedding party members steam their outfits the NIGHT BEFORE the wedding, and not the morning-of. Steamy mornings cause melty makeup situations, and we don’t want that on the big-day. But it’s always a good idea to have one handy just in case something gets irrevocably wrinkled during the day.

Our fav handheld steamer here!

But also a cool option - a mini iron?! Check it out here.

No. 8 | Mini Sewing Kits

The BW Studio team has sewn on more buttons than we can count, but these mini kits come in handy for a variety of reasons. Always something that needs a snip or some string throughout the weekend. Highly recommend one with lots of neutral colored string.

Check out our favorite mini sewing kit here.

We all have this exact one in our kits! Super versatile, but lots of neutral color thread inside, too.

No. 9 | Mints / Tic Tacs / Gum

Whether your a mint person, a TicTac junkie, or a gum fanatic… always recommend brining something to freshen up your breath later into the evening. Dinner can get garlic-y and you still have a lot of people to talk to. So hit the restroom, freshen up, and clear up that dinner breath before you head back out to say hello to all of your guests. Leave some in the restrooms too, your guests will love it!

No. 10 | Antacid

Always recommend this item to the anxious stomachs in the crowd! It’s a wild day… you’re marrying your favorite person in the whole world… and all of your friends and family are watching. We get it! But don’t be stressed, calm that tummy and power through. After the ceremony, it gets easier. Plus, they have these super cute mini bottles of tums that are perfect for the emergency kit.

Something else to consider is a cute tote to keep everything in!! Some items will be too large, or easily contained in a small tote bag. But here are some of our absolute favorite carrying cases for emergency items. You’ll see our team using these on wedding weekends, too!
