The City Winery in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood is perfect for any kind of celebration! Whether that’s a wedding, corporate event, gala, or an immersive wine experience. Your guests won’t forget it! Mary Pat and Andrew chose this venue because of its beautiful Wine Garden and built in concert venue, perfect for their live band. It was a sight to behold and surely a celebration none of their guests will top for a long time.

Wine Garden

The expansive Wine Garden is perfect for large outdoor celebrations, but also an ideal spot for wedding ceremonies. Couples can choose to angle their ceremony into the corner of the garden or straight down the middle. The winery also has a lovely arbor for couples to use as their altar.

Mary Pat and Andrew chose a unique angled ceremony that pivoted around the built in flower pots in the center of the Wine Garden. Afterwards, we had live musicians and a beautiful spread of charcuterie for guests to sample alongside their wine pairings. The sun was just setting as guests made their way inside for dinner.

Concert Venue

The largest of the indoor venues is their Concert Venue. It hosts a permanent stage, about 21’ by 18’. Perfect for a 10 piece band. Complete with an in house sound system! There are even overhead projectors with screens in case you need to create a viewing opportunity for those in the way back! And there’s a beautiful private bar surrounded by the wine cellar. Beyond those are private restrooms that support this space. When set for dinner, the Concert Venue can host about 250 guests seated and around 350 guests in a standing reception.

Mary Pat and Andrew utilized this space to the max! They had a really fun band that kept the room on their toes all night long. But they also had fantastic speeches we coordinated with musical numbers in them! The head table was laid out in a U shape to keep it more intimate. And guests were able to wander back into the lobby and wine garden for fresh air when they got too hot from dancing.

Barrel Room

City Winery also has a lovely Barrel Room with a private bar, private restrooms, and a stunning fireplace. The room can host about 125 seated guests and 225 for a standing reception. There are lovely views of the Winery from this space and you can also include a private Barrel Room as well.

For our event, we didn’t use this space! But it looked stunning as we passed by.

Cellar Room

The smallest of the private spaces at City Winery Chicago is the Cellar Room. It seats about 32 guests or can hold about 35 for a standing reception. City Winery can include a satellite bar in the space, and the restrooms are shared with another area. But it’s still such a beautiful space with views of the winery and totally surrounded by wine barrels. There is also an adjoining alcove that can be utilized if you need more room to spread out.

Loft

The second floor Loft is an excellent add on space to any large reception happening in the Concert Venue! It’s great for a “bridal suite” or freshening up area. The loft overlooks the lobby space and has direct access to some of the small private spaces. You can seat about 60 guests or host 80 guests for a standing reception. There’s a lovely built-in bar upstairs and two small single stall restrooms. Thankfully, there is also an elevator for easy access and a curtained area we hid all the decor boxes behind.

For Mary Pat and Andrew’s big day, we used this space as a “bridal suite” and also a green room for the band and vendors to eat their meals. It was a perfect place to host the wedding party and have a spot to gather in between major events. Plus, we could easily see all the action downstairs!

In House Winery

Hands down the best part about working with City Winery, is you get access to their award winning wines!! They have a fantastic collection, and you can mix and match to make the perfect pairing for your cocktail hour and dinner menu. Couples are always excited to come try the wines at their tasting and then pair the perfect matches for their menus. Guests can even purchase bottles to take home with them! But not to fret, they also have a fantastic cocktail and beer selection for guests that don’t prefer wines.

In House Rentals

The City Winery has a ton of lovely in house rentals at your disposal to make the planning process even easier. From tables, chairs, china, flatware, and napkins, you don’t have to worry about those details because they are all handled in house. They also have stunning Riedel Stemware to showcase their delicious wines.

Valet Service

Because the West Loop is such a busy spot, City Winery also has a great valet service for your guests. Couples can choose to cover it for their guests or let their guests pay themselves. Such a great perk in a busy neighborhood.

Great Neighborhood

With such an ideal location, City Winery has easy access to some of Chicago’s best hotels. Mary Pat and Andrew’s crew stayed at the Hyatt House nearby! But there’s also Nobu and the Emily Hotel not far away. Most couple’s choose to walk around the West Loop taking photos before they make their way over to the venue before the ceremony! Totally eliminating the need for wedding party and guest transportation.
