Ceremony at Home | Nolan & Cassie 2021
We love it when couples incorporate their love stories into their weddings, whether it be in their ceremony or throughout their reception. Nolan and Cassie took this one step further by holding their ceremony at the exact spot where Nolan proposed!
Lucky for us all, he proposed at the most gorgeous spot on his father’s property, which also has some family history as it’s where his older sister held her ceremony as well! As we always do when any part of a wedding is going to be held outside, we talked about a Plan B should there be rain. Plan B initially was to move the ceremony to the Brix where their reception would be taking place. As we got closer to the wedding date and rain became very probable for their wedding day, we all got understandably nervous. The BW Studio team wanted to make sure Nolan and Cassie had their dream ceremony in it’s most meaningful location.
In the end, Nolan rented a tent and we moved forward with the ceremony at the Heatley residence as originally planned. Though it drizzled most of the morning, the skies cleared 20 minutes before go time, and they had the most beautiful ceremony which Nolan’s uncle, Kirby, officiated. In our experience, there’s never a dry eye when a family member officiates a wedding and that was certainly the case here!
After the ceremony, guests headed to one of the couple’s favorite bars for a complimentary drink. Meanwhile, the gorgeous wedding party, stayed behind to have their photos taken throughout the property which had no shortage of picturesque locations for photos.
Speaking of photos, another way that Nolan incorporated their love story into his and Cassie’s special day was by getting photos of all their best moments printed on the lining of his suit jacket. Such a sweet and unique gesture!
While their ceremony was definitely a highlight of the day, the reception was equally stunning, with pampas grass and a beautiful gradient of peach and orange flowers filling the Brix. Their dinner was served cocktail-style after a seated salad course and featured over 10 different bite-sized dishes. The unique cocktail dinner was a big hit and encouraged more dancing than if dinner had been seated! We even had the newlyweds’ toddler nieces and nephews adorably tearing it up on the dance floor!
Another feature of the night was their super unique “guest book” which was a large piece of wood that said, “Heatley’s Est. 2021” and is going to look amazing hung up on the wall of their home together.
The love Nolan and Cassie have for each other and for their family and friends was palpable all day and we were honored to have been part of this gorgeous day!
