Spring at Danada House - T&K 2023

spring wedding reception at the danada house

Spring has a way of luring Midwesterners out of hibernation faster than you can say "sunshine." The promise of warmer days ahead is irresistible, and that feeling of renewal was exactly what Theresa and Kevin's Spring Wedding at the Danada House in Wheaton embodied entirely. After a long, frosty winter, we had contingency plans upon contingency plans for any weather curveballs, but fate smiled upon us with the perfect Midwestern spring day.

From the moment we met Theresa and Kevin, it was evident that they were destined for greatness. Their effortless connection, the way they finished each other's sentences with laughter - it was absolutely contagious. Both educators, their genuine interest and patience extended to everyone around them. And that spirit infused our entire vendor team, each passionate artist adding to the joy of the day.

The morning of their special day began with hair and makeup at the maid of honor's house, complete with a generous spread of snacks to fuel the excitement. We stopped in to pick up a few items and were immediately invited to stay for breakfast. Meanwhile, the groom and his crew prepped at the nearby Hotel Indigo. Arriving early at the Danada House gardens, Theresa and Kevin stole a quiet moment for a first look, surrounded by the beauty of nature. The wedding party was able to capture all of their photos beforehand knowing we could all hop right into cocktail hour with the guests later.

As guests made their way down the winding path to the ceremony, they were greeted with refreshing flavored waters and the sounds of live music mingling with the nearby equestrian center's horses. The couple's ceremony, set beneath twin oak trees, featured a touching tree planting ritual symbolizing the growth and strength of their new union.

Post-ceremony, guests were invited back to the meticulously restored mansion for cocktails and appetizers, wandering through the historic gardens and marveling at the house's timeless elegance. The Danada House, once the social hub for Illinois' elite, now served as the perfect backdrop for Theresa and Kevin's celebration, maintaining its allure through the years.

As evening fell, we ushered guests into the ballroom, nestled within the forest preserve's all-weather atrium, where even local wildlife joined in the festivities - peering through the windows.

With heartfelt toasts and a sumptuous meal from Marie’s Catering, the evening transitioned seamlessly into a night of dancing and revelry, marking the beginning of a new season and a lifetime of love for Theresa and Kevin. We couldn't resist joining them on the dance floor to bid them goodnight, knowing their celebration was just the start of many more joyful moments to come.
